His work reviews the efficacy and outcomes of Endoscopic Sleeve Gastroplasty (ESG) compared with traditional lifestyle modification strategies, highlighting ESG’s potential as a safe, effective, and durable solution for weight loss and metabolic improvement.

About Dr. Ahmed Sharafeldin

Biography:
Dr. Ahmed Sharafeldin is a highly driven and accomplished medical graduate from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland - Bahrain, where he consistently demonstrated academic excellence, graduating among the top 10 students in his class. In recognition of his exceptional performance, he received the RCSI President’s Honor Award in 2024, ranking third among his cohort.

Currently, Dr. Sharafeldin serves as a Junior Doctor in the Acute Internal Medicine Department at Noble’s Hospital on the Isle of Man, where he manages complex, high-acuity medical cases and contributes to multidisciplinary patient care. His long-term ambition is to specialize in gastroenterology, a field in which he has already developed strong academic and clinical foundations through multiple electives and observerships in the United States and the United Kingdom.

Having trained and worked across healthcare systems in the Middle East, UK, and US, Dr. Sharafeldin brings a global perspective to patient care, with refined communication, adaptability, and clinical judgment skills. His current research focuses on advanced endoscopic procedures and gastrointestinal malignancies, with special interest in immunotherapeutic and metabolic innovations for pancreatic cancer.

Passionate about integrating clinical excellence with translational research, Dr. Sharafeldin is committed to advancing medical science and improving patient outcomes in gastroenterology.
